I moved to Oregon from California, and I would like 2 cameras, 1 for me and buy 1 for my son so we can stay in touch. What is the best webcam for a reasonable price? So, what is the best place to buy? Both must comply with webcams laptops / notebooks. Thank you all in advance.

The Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX appears to be a good camera. It is quite reasonable prices to you (over $ 100 to spend on a good camera) and has decent reviews. You can buy them anywhere - amazon.com, newegg.com or other hardware store.
I've heard that Firewire is much better than USB webcam.
